    Pre-Hire Recommendation

    Prior to hiring the Floor Grinder, we recommend you test the hardness of the material to be ground, to determine the correct diamond segments to be used.

    The diamond segments for this machine are expensive. Selecting the wrong diamond segments can lead to excessive wear. We can provide some guidance on segments selection, but ultimately it's down to the customer to select the diamond segments they require. 

    We have available for hire a Hardness Test Kit. We recommend using this kit first, to determine the correct type of diamond segment to use.

    When hiring the segments, increments of 1mm wear charges will apply.
             

    Grinding Segment Options (For Hire)

    Each segment is designed for different applications.

    Select a segment image and it's technical information and what it's designed for grinding will be displayed in the USAGE GUIDE section below.

    When hired, each segment is charged per 1mm of wear.

    Example wear charges:

    The machine head uses 6 segments

    Each segment is worn by 1mm = 6 x 1mm = 6 wear charges
    Each segment is worn by 0.5mm = 6 x 0.5mm = 3 wear charges

    The Husqvarna VARI-GRIND™ EZ S - 25 grit segment is designed for grinding soft and abrasive concrete floors.

    It caters to surfaces with a hardness level ranging from 2 to 3 on Mohs hardness scale.

    This carefully engineered system ensures optimal balance between tool wear and grinding speed on abrasive floors.

    USAGE GUIDE - Husqvarna VARI-GRIND™ EZ M - 25 grit

    The Husqvarna VARI-GRIND™ EZ M - 25 grit segment is specially designed for grinding medium concrete floors.

    USAGE GUIDE - Husqvarna VARI-GRIND™ EZ T-REX CLASSIC

    The Husqvarna VARI-GRIND™ EZ T-REX CLASSIC segment, featuring double PCD (polycrystalline diamond) claws.

    This advanced design enables efficient removal of soft contaminants such as glue.

    While effectively eliminating unwanted residues, it leaves behind a moderately to highly scratched surface.

    This system is ideal for most commonly seen contaminant removal applications. Suitable for moderate professional tasks.

    Optimal Materials:

    CARPET GLUE
    Adhesive specially designed for securing carpets to different types of flat substrates. When carpet is removed, the glue left behind remains elastic and flexible. It is highly recommended that this be removed before any other new flooring solution is applied.

    CERAMIC GLUE
    Specialised adhesive for binding tiles to the substrate. Glue left on the surface after tiles are removed is very brittle and abrasive. It is highly recommended that this to be removed before applying any new flooring solution is applied.

    THICK EPOXY (1-3 MM)
    Epoxy coating with a thicker application thickness(<gt/>1mm), offering a colorized and smooth surface. Suitable industrial and commercial areas. The performance of this surface is very much depended on how the substrate has been prepared.

    THICK LEVELLING COMPOUND (1-3 MM)
    Self-levelling compound applied in a thicker layer (1-3 mm), capable of correcting moderate surface irregularities and providing a level base for coatings or flooring.

    THICK PAINT (1-3 MM)
    Paint applied in a thicker layer (<gt/>1 mm), offering enhanced durability, waterproofing, and protection for surfaces.
