Product Description
This electric 8 tonne hydraulic log splitter is suitable of home or professional use. It incorporates a 2 speed hydraulic cylinder and by using the 2 control levers the operator can move the hydraulic cylinder at double speed with a lower force or normal speed with the full 8 tonnes of force, depending on the type of wood to be split.
The two levered control system has been designed and engineered so that the operator is forced to employ both hands and work in the safety area, thus eliminating the possibility of hands or arms being inserted into dangerous areas.
The adjustable return stop on the hydraulic cylinder sets the position that the ram automatically returns to when the operator releases the levers. This can be set to suit the length of logs being split and eliminates unnecessary ram travel and wasted time.
The splitting wedge is mounted on an adjustable arm that can be extended to accommodate longer logs. Also included is a 4 way splitting wedge, this can be fitted over the standard splitting wedge to enable logs to be split into 4 pieces rather than 2.
Although very powerful, the machine will run off a standard 13amp household socket, and comes with a 10m power cable. Due to the powerful motor, the machine can not be run of an extension lead. In the event the machine can’t be positioned within 10m of an electricity supply, the machine can be powered by a petrol generator. We offer a discounted package price for the log splitter and generator if hired together. If you wish to supply your own generator, we recommend a 5kVA (4kw) size.
